Measure for a replacement cylinder lock

A cylinder is measured as two half’s. From one end to centre of screw hole and same the other end. The example shows a 70mm lock (overall length) which is 35mm each side.

The reason we use two measurements is because each side of the lock can be different sizes.

We use three measurements external | cam | internal. The cam is always 10mm. So the example above on our site would be 30/10/30. We have found this to help in measuring with a tape measure.

A cylinder measuring tool is availible, this allows you to measure the cylinder while in the door.
